Match report by Jason Seeley

Great boot’s- birdman shows his confidence with yellow boot’s – he promise’s us a hat-trick. Weary start from both side’s a little kick and rush stuff, after some good play by the midfield its 1-0 cracking goal by Eli half volley into the top corner of the net. Almost straight away we attack again and Eli feeds the birdman and those yellow boot’s do the rest. 10 min’s gone and we our 2-0 up.

After some good passing George hits a cross come shot which is too hot to handle for the keeper. 3-0 and what a start to the new season. Brandon shows he’s also on his toes when with their first chance after a mix up at the back, Brandon pulls off a great save at their feet. First half finishes with a 3-0 lead to my boys.

2nd half

Fry’s on top Jacob burning up the right wing creating havoc, quiet period-no real chances, but fry’s looking solid. Spectacular goal by Jacob it’s 4-0 after he’d picked ball up in his own half beats two players and burry’s it, his dad even said “well done “!. Birdies new boot’s are really working, sharp turn and shot is well saved by the keeper, the new boot’s worked next shot to make it 5-0 at full time in first game.

MAN OF MATCH: JACOB MOORE For his tough tackling and drive to force us forward at times when we needed it.

Match report by Russell Holt

After a great start from the ‘A’ team, a very confident 5-0 win, its time for the ‘B’ team to see if they can follow with an opening day win.

After early pressure Dan Bowden shoots and the Bris keeper pulls off a great save. In goal Ellis looks confident, dealing easily with a long range shot. Josh James fires over the bar after a good passing move between Callum, Harry and Dan. Callum heads wide from Josh James good cross, Callum forces Frys 1st corner and Frys nearly score at the far post. New captain Josh Seeley and Rhys are keeping it tight at the back for Frys. A great tackle from Harry in the middle of the park and then a surging run and shot requires the Bris keeper to save. After a harsh refereeing decision Bris score from the resulting free kick.0-1 but Frys respond with great character and Josh James replies with a rasping shot from the edge of the box 1-1. Harry shoots from just inside the Bris half and the keeper saves with his ‘chin’. Ellis gets his hands stung from a powerful shot but turns it around the post for a corner. Half time 1-1. A great half of football.

 2nd half

Early pressure from Bris and Frys are looking shaky at the back, but a great tackle from Rhys puts Frys on the attack. A long throw from Bris puts Frys under pressure, but again Ellis looks confident. Sam in midfield is putting in some great tackles and keeping the Bris midfield under pressure. Great defending from Josh and Rhys are keeping the Bris forwards quiet, but a break from Bris and they score with a great strike 1-2. With 5 min’s to go Frys are still looking to get back in the game, Sam is still all over the park trying to get Frys level. We win a free kick and Dan try’s his luck with a long range shot but is just wide. The ‘B’ team loses 2-1 but was never out played. After the two games we have a great start to the season with a 6-2 win on aggregate  over Bris. Hopefully this is the start of things to come.

MAN OF MATCH: Josh James for his outstanding strike to bring us level and some great crosses with his trusted left foot.

MANAGERS COMMENTS ON MATCH’S

I feel the boys have shown a great attitude in both games to out play the other team in long periods of the game and our defending today was of top quality and when we had the chances to score we were clinical. A great start. Let’s just keep it going and improve from match to match. IM PROUD OF ALL THE BOYS I HAVE IN THE SQUAD THIS YEAR AND HOPEFULLY WE WILL HAVE A GOOD YEAR IN THE ‘A’ DIVISION AND FINISH NEAR THE TOP.
